The Root Keep-Fit Club, Kumasi, has donated three new HP laptops to the SONSOL project at KNUST. A delegation from the club, led by Chairman Mr. Obour Asamoah Asuako, presented the laptops to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson.

Mr. Asuako noted that the club has been training at the KNUST Paa Joe Sports Stadium since 1972 and found it appropriate to support the university in its time of need.
“We received a letter from your office through the former chairman appealing for support toward the SONSOL project. We are here to respond to that call and to introduce the newly sworn-in executives to KNUST management,” he said.
Professor Dickson expressed gratitude to the club for its thoughtful gesture and acknowledged the critical role of digital access in modern education.
“Since the onset of COVID-19, we have had to blend online and face-to-face learning. Through the Institute of Distance Learning and the E-Learning Centre, we’ve been rolling out this initiative for the past five years,” she said.
She described the project not just as a university campaign but as a management obligation to ensure that no student is left behind due to lack of access to digital learning tools. She encouraged more organisations and individuals to support the initiative.
